The Askia collection celebrates the great Askia Empire of ancient Africa. The collection is honoring the African tradition of gathering herbs and spices that invigorate and heal the body.

Character: Think sunny mornings, balmy afternoons and an enlightened evening. An uplifting and brightening collection of teas that makes for positive thoughts and a strengthened spirit. At its peak the Askia Empire encompassed the Hausa states as far as Kano (in present-day Nigeria) and much of the territory that had belonged to the Mali Empire in the west of Africa. The teas, herbs and spices of this collection are of the highest quality.

Using fresh dry fruits, spices, flowers and herbs to enhance our teas aromatic flavors is our first step. The process of infusing flavors into our tea blends start with a natural or organic flavor element. We believe in keeping the flavoring process pure. Providing a delicious product is important to us, but we also keep the holistic approach from the Harvesting on farms to the Markets we sell to. Small batch blending is a key part of our program. This also allows for the teas to arrive fresh and tasteful, that is always our first priority.
